On March 6 2018 Mr. Mihai Poalelungi was appointed as judge of the Constitutional Court by the Superior Council of Magistracy, following the resignation for personal reasons of the constitutional judge Mr. Tudor Panțîru.
Prior to the appointment to the position of Constitutional Court judge, Mr Mihai Poalelungi activated in the judicial system of the Republic of Moldova starting with the year 1988. During the period 1 May 2008 – 1 May 2012 he served as judge of the European Court of Human Rights on behalf of the Republic of Moldova. Starting with 1 May 2012 until the appointment as constitutional judge Mr Mihai Poalelungi held the position of judge and President of the Supreme Court of Justice.
